Several years ago, an Internet essay addressed the public outrage regarding the then unheard-of possibility of gas prices approaching $3 per gallon. For the sake of contrast, various commodities were listed and calculations presented on the per-gallon price of each item. On the list was Tri-color ink (for computer print cartridges) calculated at approximately $5000 per gallon.
Of course, our Savior's blood is far more valuable, much more precious than Tri- color ink. The Bible tells people of faith in Jesus Christ: [You were redeemed] "with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish and without spot." (1 Pet.1:19). Additionally, 1 John 1:7b: "The blood of Jesus Christ...cleanses us from all sin." Ponder the scope of that, if you can.
You may have repeatedly given blood during blood drives. No matter how many times you have given blood, you have provided only one type of blood, effective and helpful for only a limited group of human beings. Your blood type must match or be very similar to another person's, or else it won't do them any good.
The precious blood of Jesus Christ, though, cleanses all persons who belong to Him in saving faith. Furthermore, the Messiah's blood sacrifice cleanses all Christians from all sin. This does not contradict other Scriptures which clearly teach that authentic Christians are summoned to obedience; but it does guarantee the effectiveness of Jesus' blood sacrifice for all those who truly repent and believe in Him.
Elvina M. Hall put it this way:
"And when before the throne I stand in Him complete;
'Jesus died my soul to save', My lips shall still repeat.
Jesus paid it all, All to him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain--- He washed it white as snow."
